It’s no secret that men are more reserved when it comes to talking about their health. According to research conducted on behalf of the Movember Foundation, 50% of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas said they told someone to take action to improve their health in 2013.
The Movember Foundation’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.
This finding is a great start, but there is still work to be done. This Movember (the month formerly known as November), you can help by bringing your Mo Bros and Mo Sistas together and focus on bringing men’s health to the forefront of conversations.
The idea for Movember actually started with a conversation between friends. That one conversation back in 2003 has today grown into billions, taking place around the world.
The Movember community has raised $559 million to date and funded over 800 programs in 21 countries. This work is saving and improving the lives of men affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health problems.
The Movember Foundation challenges men to grow mustaches during Movember to spark conversation and raise vital funds for its men’s health programs. To date, 4 million mustaches have been grown worldwide.
