Germs lurk everywhere. Door handles, computer keyboards, and touch screens are only a few examples.
Here are two examples of germy places you may not have thought about:
Makeup bags
Anything that touches your face will pick up bacteria, ladies, so remember this when you’re using your 4-year-old lipstick, especially if you’re tempted to share. Use fresh products when possible, and try not to keep your chap-stick in your pocket, which provides the warm environment germs, love.
Reusable grocery bags
Every time you hit the grocery store and pick up the fixings for supper, you add a few more germs to your grocery bags. Most aren’t harmful, but if you accidentally pick up a leaky package of chicken, for example, you’re also bringing home plenty of bacteria.
Consider keeping separate bags for specific items – one for produce, one for meat, one for canned goods, and so on.
It’s just as important to keep a set of bags for groceries and not use them for gym clothes or for transporting other items.
Every so often, toss your bags in the washing machine and then the dryer, if you can. This will help kill any pesky pathogens still hanging around.
