Homemade ice pops are a delicious treat on a hot summer day. Get the kids involved in the preparation and use fresh fruit so you don’t have to feel guilty about having more than one.
Here’s a recipe, courtesy of News North America. You can whip up a batch each week if you like. Supplies:
• Ice pop molds.
• Popsicle sticks (if not provided with molds).
• Selection of fruit and juice.
Ingredients:
• Two to five fruits per mold − think two round fruits and three types of berries or grapes
• Fruit juice − lemonade and white grape are light and complimentary with many flavours
Directions:
1. Combine fruit in a bowl and pour 3 ounces of the mixture into each spot of the mould.
2. Pour juice until it covers the fruit mixture.
3. Place popsicle sticks into the mixture, and freeze for 6 hours until set.
